It's easy to see the empty things, my bank account, my refrigrator, the gas needle, and more and more often my patience. As easy as it is to see these things, it is as easy to dwell on them. Their emptiness fills my mind, causing anxiety and stress. But instead of dwelling on these, today I will choose to dwell on the things that fill; Addie's smile, Owen's laughter, seeds in the soil, studying to teach Sunday school, planning mission trips, sunshine, and the Holy Spirit.

ReplyDeleteGod has totally used your words in my life today. Seriously, I've been a bit dreading Spring Break (does this make me a bad mom??) because my oldest and I seem to be butting heads a lot these days. And yet, you have come in and showed me how to shift this perspective. To carry the good moments instead of the bad, to look at how I am filled instead of how I am not. I am so glad that you did not give into the idea of not blogging. oh my goodness.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder of all of the things that we have that make our lives full.
