trust

In peace I will lie down and sleep,

At night I struggle
my mind races
the anxiety builds
all the bad things that could ever happen
make movies in my mind

for you alone, LORD,

and so i pray
for trust

make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:7-8

My pastor started a series on heaven this week.  I'm looking forward to the study.
What do you think a day in heaven is going to be like?

  1. I love the way you took this verse to mean our minds dwelling in safety. The battlefield really is in our minds.

  3. I don't even think that we have the brainpower required to even imagine a small portion of what heaven will be like...but that just makes knowing it awaits us that much sweeter!

  6. Hi, Karrie. So glad to have met you today. I relate. I do my worst thinking and fearing at night and I have had to start praying myself to sleep to remind me to whom I belong. In fact, I'm sitting (for days and days, like I said...) on a post with trust in the title. Maybe there is a theme moving here...

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24 Leave me some honey.
