provisions

what do you consider your basic needs?

today we studied Jesus feeding the five thousand.  he satisfied their basic needs by filling their bellies but most of all by filling there spirits.

“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.  But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.  For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.  And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.  For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

I'm pretty sure that God knows that like my own son I have to be told multiple times to do things and that when he speaks he is loud and clear.  I am extra extra blessed to teach with some wonderful teachers, one of which is my dear friend Kendal.  She recently taught Sudan to our lovelies, and they took hold and took action.  They decided to raise money for a well.  They decided that people need provisions and its unfair for them to go without.  They are excited and we as teachers are excited they are excited. God speaks to me.  As I studied my lesson this week there was a story in my book about a family without water in Kenya.   They walk seven miles for clean water.  God speaks to me. wow.  I am blessed.  I am beyond blessed.  water.org says 884 million people lack access to safe water supplies; approximately one in eight people. God speaks....there is a need.....do something.  I explain to my sunday school class my kids project, I leave with money and a check.  God speaks.

are you listening?
thank you kendal for your inspiration to our students and to me
thank you sunday school class for listening
thank you students, you are awesome
Thank you God for not giving up on me,
even if you have to tell me more than once

  1. God does have to tell me lots of things more than once, too.

But, along your other topic, this weekend, I ran a 10 mile race called Run for the Water. For every participant fee, one person in Africa gains access to clean water. Amazing!

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24 Leave me some honey.
