i find myself wanting....
a new car
a pretty yard with flowers and paths
cool toys for my kids
new shoes
hardwood floors
a back deck
and the list goes on
stuff
stuff
stuff
but i read
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
never will I forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5
and i pray please forgive me
and yet the world sings....billboards, tv, radio, friends, family...buy this, YOU need this, how have you lived without this...
so I cling to Luke's words
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
Luke 12:15
Beautiful. I've been singing those same words to myself as I struggle for a more simple life. Dead to things...alive to accomplishing more for God.
